Do you know Himeji Castle? I have lived near Himeji Castle for eighteen years.

So I introduce you about Himeji Castle. Today, I would write about history about Himeji Castle.  

Akamatsu Sadanori build a small castle in the mountain. After successive generations of the lord of a castle repaired and rebuild many times. Construction of Himeji Castle started in 1346. In 1618 ,the Edo period , Himeji castle finished. In these days, the lord of a castle was Honda Tadamasa.

In the Edo period, Himeji Castle was not dragged into a war, so in Meiji period, Himeji Castle remake military space.  In the Pacific War, Himeji castle was conspicuous, because the wall of Himeji Castle was white. And Himeji Castle has an army and Military industry. So an army of America target Himeji Castle. Himeji castle take steps to deal with the situation. Himeji Castle was covered by a black net. But in 1945, Himeji Castle was bombed. But Himeji Castle remained. Next morning, when people see Himeji castle, people shed tears.

Sen Princess is one of the important person in the history of Himeji Castle. Senn princess was born in 1597. Sen Princess wasa daughter of Toyotomi Hidetada. Sen princess married Toyotomi Hideyori , When Sen princess was only seven years old. This marry was a political marriage to connect between Tokugawa and Toyotomi. Later, Tokugawa and Toyotomi made war. In this time her grandfather helped Sen Princess.

Sen Princess met Honda Tadatoki who is honda Tadamasa’s son. Sen Princess outlived hasband, so Sen Princess married Honda Tadatoki. In this way, Honda Tadatoki became the lord of Himeji Castle and Sen Princess became a princess of Himeji Castle. Sen Princess gave birth to a baby boy and girl. Sen Princess spent a happy life. But it didn’t keep. Her son dead when he is only three years old. And her husband dead from illness when he is only thirty-one years old. Sen Princess left Himeji Castle, and she became a nun. Her character was very quiet but Sen Princess was a bravery lady.

Do you know another name of Himeji Castle? There are various view. For example, Himeji Castle called “Egret

castle”.  First, Himezi castle was build at the heron mountain. Second, a Himeji Castle wall is painted by white plaster. It is very beautiful and fascinating. Third, there are many birds called Egret , for example, it is a night heron. Fourth, Himeji castle compare “bird Castle” has black wall. Bird castle was built in Okayama.

“renunciation of war castle” is one of the another name of Himeji castle. In the Edo period, Himeji castle was surrounded by the new government. In the Second World war, an incendiary hit directly. But Himeji Castle have never been in the fires of war and never suffer a serious loss.  

Himeji castle sometimes called “success in life Castle”, because Hashiba Hideyoshi success when he lived in Himeji Castle.

castle” often use a school song. In a fact, school song of my school used a ward “Egret castle”.  “Egret castle” sometime use the name of an elementary school.

Himeji castle has a long history.

And Himeji castle influence the present time.
